In 2027, Uppsala University will celebrate its 550th anniversary.

The aim is to highlight the jubilee in various ways both in Sweden and abroad. The Communications Department has been tasked with coordinating the jubilee.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be to plan and execute jubilee activities leading up to and during 2027, together with the project manager for Uppsala University's 550th anniversary, as well as coordinate initiatives within the framework of the jubilee. You and the project manager will report to the Director of Communications and have a steering group to support the planning work.

The assignment is to coordinate all efforts related to the jubilee, both at Uppsala University and among external parties, as well as independently manage certain sub-projects together with the project manager.

Your tasks will also include performing other duties as needed within the Communications Department.

You will have contacts with experts in areas such as research, education, events, finance, and communication.

Qualifications

The following requirements must be met to be considered for employment:

  • A university degree or equivalent experience deemed relevant by the employer.
  • Experience as a project coordinator or similar in larger organizations.
  • Experience in organizing larger events.
  • Excellent command of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to handle sometimes stressful situations.
  • Excellent ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders around you.
  • Excellent ability to inspire and motivate colleagues.
  • Excellent ability to work in a structured, goal-oriented, and results-oriented manner.

Desirable/meritorious qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of the university environment.
  • Experience with project management systems.
  • Experience in handling large amounts of data.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Significant and current experience in voluntary work within Uppsala's student life, particularly in nations and student unions.

In addition to the above, the employer will place great importance on personal suitability for the role.

The position is temporary for 2 years, with a workload of 100%.
